Information Desk/ Meet and Greet Volunteer at Westmorland General Hospital

Volunteers play a very important role in the NHS. Working in a range of settings and providing a variety of services alongside paid staff, volunteers are often a key part of patient services.

Main purpose of role:
To assist in the provision of a welcoming and accommodating hospital environment.

Main tasks/overview of responsibilities

To provide guidance and way finding to patients, visitors and staff around the main hospital site.

To assist with the transportation of patients to and from appointments across the hospital site.

To assist patients in obtaining basic information about the hospital and their appointment.

To assist in the hospital environment ensuring it’s equipped to accommodate patients and visitors.

Applicant requirements

The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable people and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
