University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay seeks to recruit to a number of key roles in our Community Care Group as we embark on our transformation journey to change our services in South Cumbria. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated band 5 staff nurse to join the team at Millom Hospital which is situated in the heart of the Lake District. Within Millom hospital is a nine bedded Step up Step down Unit and also a community nursing team. The bed base of nine beds focusing on a high standard of holistic assessment and care planning of patients who are admitted from both Community services and secondary care. The Community nursing team provide a high standard of holistic assessment and care planning to support patients within their own home.

There is an opportunity within these vacancies for working within the ward environment or the community, with rotational posts available. There is also an opportunity variety of hours.

The aim is to be able to facilitate early patient discharge through a Multi-Disciplinary team approach working with partners from both health and social care. The post holders will therefore develop the ethos of integrated care and seamless services ensuring that patient care is delivered to the highest possible standard.

The  Trust values training and development very highly. We want all our staff to develop their learning and career and we will always support you to study further and extend your own knowledge. We have a range of courses to help you develop your clinical skills in the community.

Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.
