''A great place to be cared for; a great place to work''

Bank Intermediate Doctors

We have an opportunity for enthusiastic doctors to join our Medical locum bank within our Surgery and Critical Care Group at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust at our Lancaster and Barrow in Furness Sites in the sub-specialties of General Surgery, Urology, and Trauma and Orthopaedics

You will receive a Trust and Departmental Induction before you commence work on the wards and full training on our Lorenzo electronic patient record system. All inductions and training are on a paid basis.

We value our Bank locums and appreciate the contribution they make to our Trust and patient care. As a relatively small clinical site, we get to know our medical staff quickly, allowing you to get the most from the time you spend with us. So whether you want regular bank work or just one or two shifts a month you will be fully supported by our team.

We work in one of the finest parts of the country, on the edge of the beautiful English Lake District. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty, with superb recreational activities on your doorstep. Our hospitals are extremely friendly and our staffs say we’re one of the best health organisations to work for. We have excellent local schools and first class motorway and rail links to the North West and the rest of the country.

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
