The Procurement Department at University Hospitals Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust is provides services across the whole health economy in Cumbria and North Lancashire. We now require an additional Purchasing Assistant to join their busy Procurement Department.

The successful candidate will be based at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary and reporting to the Procurement Support Manager, as part of a wider team, will be responsible for providing a fast, efficient and friendly purchase order processing service to wards and departments

The Purchasing Assistant will also be responsible for liaising with internal customers and suppliers, dealing with invoice queries and updating departmental records.

As a minimum, candidates should have experience of working within a customer service focussed environment, possess a friendly and confident telephone manner and be computer literate.

Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.
