We currently see in excess of 20,000 patients a year with minor injuries and illnesses, also providing an assessment service for GP referrals, where we assess for admission to our step up / step down units or if more appropriate acute services. Working closely with our community nursing and Acute Trust colleagues we aim to provide accessible and credible services.

We are looking for a motivated and committed Band 5 Staff Nurse who will have the responsibility for the provision of care and to meet the individual needs of patients with minor injuries/illnesses and medical conditions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to use your own initiative is essential as is the ability to plan and organise your time and to work under pressure. We would also require the successful candidate to have a keen interest in teaching and support junior staff maybe acting as a mentor.

Full training and development will be available to support the skills and knowledge required within this role.

The post is shift work including weekends and bank holidays.

Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment
