Job overview

We have exciting roles both full and part time positions available for enthusiastic Band 5 Registered Nurses to join the Endoscopy Team at Furness General Hospital.  

You will be a reliable, flexible individual, a team player who evolves to the  changing needs and development of the service . 

You will be a dynamic and adaptable individual who can work as part of an  enthusiastic team 

You will provide and promote the highest possible Professional standards and accept accountability  for the patient as an individual providing autonomy within the team .

 

 

Main duties of the job

 Work effectively with the multidisciplinary team in order to achieve desired outcomes that promote the well being of patients. 

Act as mentor or assessor in supporting and developing junior staff e.g. student nurses, return to practice nurses registered and unregistered staff through mentorship/preceptorship and induction. 

Act as an effective role model for all ward staff. 

Identify problems which effect planning and delivery of patient care and actively work towards solving them empowering others to make decisions. 

Lead the ward as team leader or taking charge of a shift. 

Assist less experienced staff in setting priorities.

Working for our organisation

We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
