• To support service transformation and the new maternity unit.

Applications are invited for the post of Trust Associate Specialist Anaesthetist based at the Furness General Hospital.

We will consider applications from specialty grade doctors and support them in a developmental role to achieve the Trust Associate Specialist grade.

These are full time permanent Trust Associate Specialist posts. You will join a department of 10 Consultants, 5 Associate specialists and 1 FY2 doctor. All the post holders are expected to cover theatre sessions at Furness General Hospital and sometimes Westmorland General Hospital, Kendal. 

Furness General Hospital is a pleasant, friendly hospital in the Furness Peninsula situated between the Lake District Fells, Morecambe Bay and the Duddon and Leven Estuaries. Westmorland General Hospital is located on the outskirts of the popular Lakeland town of Kendal. Both hospitals are situated in areas of outstanding natural beauty, which offer superb outdoor and recreational activities close to the Lake District. There is good access to the M6 motorway and a direct rail link to Manchester and Liverpool & its airports.

The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust has a keen interest and extensive involvement in Medical and Dental Education at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. We work in partnership with Lancaster Medical School, North Western Deanery and Health Education North West to provide quality education and training which meets the requirements of these regulatory bodies as well as the Trust’s high standards of patient care. UHMBFT provides one of the main NHS settings for students from Lancaster Medical School as we co-ordinate, deliver and quality assure the clinical component of Lancaster Medical Schools MBChB degree programme.

You must be fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice.
