''A great place to be cared for; a great place to work''

 About the role…

Following a successful pilot of an integrated MSK (‘iMSK’) service in South Cumbria, we are seeking suitably qualified and experienced physiotherapists to join the permanently commissioned service. The expanded service will cover the Morecambe Bay footprint, working in partnership with the well-established service in the Lancashire North area. The iMSK service will provide a single point of access to MSK services, working with Consultants, GPs, Physiotherapists and other members of the MSK team to ensure a seamless service.

1.5 WTE role are available at Band 8a Extended Scope Practitioner level, or at Band 7 Advanced Practitioner level, depending on knowledge, skills and experience, progressing to Band 8a ESP level in line with a competency framework. Team members are supported by our Consultant Physiotherapist, Orthopaedic, Pain and Rheumatology Consultants & GPSIs who will contribute to a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care. Training, mentoring and education will be provided for staff to develop sustainable strategies for running musculoskeletal clinics. You will be supported to attend internal & external training relevant to this extended scope role, and to take an active part in audit, research & service improvement relevant to the service.

The post holders will be based at primary and secondary care venues across Morecambe Bay, enhancing the choice, convenience and flexibility available to patients, and developing close links with primary & secondary care services. Post holders will also contribute to the clinical leadership of MSK services, and will support the learning & development of MDT colleagues.

The iMSK Service will not be limited to assessing & treating patients, but also must be committed to empowering the population to self-care for their MSK issues and share responsibility of the management of their conditions, with a focus on education and lifestyle modification, as well as making effective use of local services.
